This guide will help you figure out where to start, what to think about when choosing child care, how to get help paying for it, and where to go for advice. Explore the Parental Access, Facility Types, and Service Area pages to help you with this task.

2)  Apply for Child Care:

Different programs require different application processes. Go to the Child Care Applications page to choose which program applies to you. Explore the Participant Handbook and Policies to learn more.

3)  Ranking, Review, and Approval:

Our department ranks applicants based on income. We review applications and process them accordingly. If approved, your application is sent to the department handling the subsidized program you qualify for. Read about our programs and eligibility by going to the Program Eligibility and Subsidized Programs pages.

4)  Referral and Quality Care

Once approved, a case worker will contact you to discuss your needs. You can choose your own child care provider or get help from the case worker in choosing one through our Provider Referral List page. Make sure to read the Check List for Quality Care to help you decide what you need..
