5th Annual Pomona Children’s Festival Highlights
The 5th Annual Pomona Children’s Festival was a delightful celebration for families, filled with activities designed for children to simply be kids. Held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Civic Center Plaza, the event aimed to strengthen community connections while providing access to valuable local resources.
This free festival featured exciting attractions, including the Pomona Police Department’s Bike Rodeo, where families enjoyed free food and superhero giveaways.
At our Child Development Resource and Referrals booth, we hosted engaging activities that allowed children to win exciting prizes. We also distributed flyers highlighting the various programs available to families in the community, emphasizing the support we offer.
Marlene Verduzco, a Bilingual Child Care Quality Specialist, reflected on the event, noting how incredible it was to engage with the Pomona community. She mentioned the enjoyable interaction with Superintendent Darren Knowles and highlighted the fun of the bubble station. The vibrant Mexican Ballet Folklorico performance left a lasting impression, and she found it heartwarming that families took the time to express their appreciation for the support our programs provide.
Overall, the 5th Annual Pomona Children’s Festival was a successful and fun-filled day, reinforcing our commitment to supporting local families and ensuring that every child has the chance to feel like a superhero. We look forward to building on this momentum in future events.
