The Family Literacy Event Conference 2026 took place on April 24th, 2026 at the Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Pomona. The venue is known for its elegant setting and scenic views of the San Gabriel Mountains, making it a fitting place for a community event focused on literacy and families. The night featured All the Stars in the Sky, written by Art Coulson. The story follows a boy named Clay who wants to be “star of the week” at school because he believes it will make him the most important person there. His grandmother helps him understand that real importance does not come from standing out alone, but from being part of a family and community. She compares people to stars in the sky, explaining that while one star can shine, a constellation of many stars working together creates something much brighter and more meaningful. The message is based on the Cherokee concept of Gadugi, which emphasizes working together for the good of the community. The event also featured a performance by the DA Center for the Arts through their De Colores Program. This program serves families with children ages 0–5 by offering puppet shows, music, movement, and art activities that strengthen the bond between parents and children through interactive learning. In addition, many parents were recognized with certificates and trophies for their valuable contributions and support of the Pomona Unified School District Child Development Program. The event included delicious food with dessert provided, along with great music and a photo booth for families to enjoy and capture memories together. Seven lucky parents also won toy raffle prizes for their children. Overall, the event highlighted the importance of literacy, family engagement, and community support, showing how stories and shared experiences can bring people together.

Father Figure Involvement Day 2026 brought together dads and father figures for a meaningful morning centered on connection, play, and positive engagement with children. Hosted on Saturday, May 16, 2026, the event created a welcoming space for families to slow down, have fun, and strengthen relationships through shared experiences. Held at Montvue Elementary School, the morning began with breakfast and community connection as families arrived and settled into a supportive, high-energy environment. A unique part of the program included child care for children ages 3 and up, allowing father figures to participate in guided learning sessions focused on how play supports children’s social and emotional development. These interactive moments helped adults explore practical ways to build stronger bonds through presence, patience, and intentional interaction. Following the learning portion, dads reunited with their children for hands-on activities filled with games, music, movement, and surprise moments designed to encourage joy, teamwork, and connection. To close out the event, families enjoyed raffles with exciting prizes, adding a celebratory finish to an already uplifting experience. Father Figure Involvement Day 2026 highlighted the importance of father involvement and community support in early childhood development, showing how meaningful connection often grows through simple, shared play.<br>
