Provider Complaints

If you observe anything concerning, please inform us!

The Pomona Unified School District Resource & Referral Department believes parents should choose child care based on their own judgment. We provide parents with a random list of providers and urge them to personally visit and choose carefully.

Complaint Policy

Our services cater to both providers and parents in our area on a non-discriminatory basis, irrespective of income, race, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

We maintain strict confidentiality with all information received.

Instances of complaints or threats to a child's physical safety, or knowledge of licensing violations, prompt an immediate referral to the licensing agency.

During the investigation of a complaint, referrals to the provider may be temporarily suspended.

If a license is revoked, temporarily suspended, or placed on probation, the provider will be expunged from our referral database. Providers have the option to appeal to the Community Care Licensing.

Parents who contact our office with concerns regarding their child care provider will be advised on the following complaint policy procedures:

  • Our staff assists the parent in clarifying their complaint and determining their course of action.

  • Complaints pertaining to the quality of care are documented using the "R&R Complaint Form."

  • Contact is initiated with the provider to express concerns and offer program assistance.

  • For complaints alleging serious licensing violations, parents are directed to contact the Community Care Licensing Agency in their area directly.

Instances of complaints or threats to a child's physical safety, or knowledge of licensing violations, will result in an immediate referral to the licensing agency.

Referrals to the provider may be temporarily suspended during the investigation of a complaint.

If a license is revoked, temporarily suspended, or placed on probation, the provider will be removed from our referral database.

Providers have the option to appeal to the Community Care Licensing.

We do not address complaints concerning disagreements between a parent and a provider over child care service fees. All information received is treated as confidential.

Given that our service area spans two counties, our staff provides the caller with the local contact information for the Community Care Licensing agency in the vicinity of their provider:

  • Los Angeles County: (323) 981‐3350

  • San Bernardino County: (951) 782 4200
