Disaster Preparedness Training for Child Care Providers and Families

Practical, hands-on training to prepare for emergencies like wildfires

Nick Bello, President of Lion Heart Safety, led the training. He is also a Fire Captain, Paramedic, and helps with social services at Lion Heart Safety.

Lana Frisby, Director of Child Care Safety and Social Services at Lion Heart Safety, helped at the event.

Jose Marquez, Child Development Translator and Caseload Technician, and Monica Loriso, Program Assistant at PUSD’s Child Development Resource and Referral Unit, helped the attendees.

The class had many interested people. The trainer said safety comes first. Everyone left with tools and papers to help with emergency plans at home or child care places. These included Emergency Backpacks and handbooks.

Attendees asked good questions. Staff gave clear instructions. The training had group talks, practice drills, and sharing stories. Audio translation devices helped everyone understand.

The event was well planned. Attendees enjoyed lunch and snacks. Most important, they left with life-saving knowledge and tools.

It was a day to remember.

Thanks to Lion Heart Safety and all staff who made this training possible.
