Provider Café: “Cree en Ti Mismo” (Spanish Cohort)

On April 24, the last Provider Café for the CCPU LA Spanish group was held in person. The theme was “Cree en Ti Mismo,” which means “Believe in Yourself.” It focused on helping child care providers take care of themselves.

The Café was a safe and friendly place where providers could talk, support each other, and learn together. This was especially helpful for those who care for children who have gone through hard times. Each meeting talked about two of the Five Protective Factors, like making strong relationships and learning about how children grow.

During the Café, providers talked with partners in guided conversations. They got yoga mats and exercise cards to help them take care of their health. Each person also wrote one self-care goal on a “commitment card” that will be mailed to them later to remind them of their goal.

At the end, everyone shared a word or thought about what they learned. There were also fun raffles and small gifts to thank them for coming and for the care they give every day.
