Celebrating Growth and New Beginnings
Congratulations to the English-speaking graduates of the Business Series program! This 10-week training, led by All Our Kin and the PUSD Child Development Department, helped family child care providers learn important skills to grow their businesses and give better care. They attended both in-person and online classes covering topics like goal setting, marketing, contracts, risk management, money management, and recordkeeping.
A Special Activity: The Ball of Yarn
One memorable activity was the "Ball of Yarn." Participants formed a circle, shared what they learned, and passed the yarn around. This showed how they are all connected. Many shared how the program changed their views and helped them build friendships and support networks.
A Graduate’s Thoughts
Libier, who has 22 years of experience, said the training gave her new ideas about her business. She learned that family child care is an important service, not just babysitting. She recommends this program to anyone running a daycare.
Ready for the Future
Finishing this program is a big step for these providers. They now have new skills and confidence to run better businesses and care for families even more. We can’t wait to see how they help their communities grow.
