Background Check
Guardian (formerly known as TrustLine)
Guardian used to be called TrustLine and started in 1987. It is run by California’s Department of Social Services and supported by the California Academy of Pediatrics. It is a list of home child care providers who have been checked to make sure they don’t have criminal records or reports of child abuse in California. Every caregiver on Guardian has had their fingerprints checked by the California Department of Justice. This helps parents feel safe when they hire caregivers.
